Alternatiba Newsletter 1
Dear all,
Alternatiba Todmorden – Sunday 3rd May 2015, put the date in your diary!
Things are moving along nicely now in the organisation of Alternatiba Todmorden, festival of climate alternatives, which will take place in Todmorden on 3rd May 2015.
The idea is to combine a temporary “village” of real solutions to climate change in the town, with a weekend of round tables on all aspects of the climate issue, and presentations and workshops on anything that can be thought to contribute to responding to the climate crisis and to a truly sustainable and just society, locally and internationally. All this in a popular, festive atmosphere, with local food, music, and so on.
We have booked the town hall, the Unitarian Church and a few other venues, we’ve also started booking speakers, workshops, stalls and presentations as well as bands.
We are having a preparatory meeting at 1pm on Sunday 1st February at the Unitarian Church in Todmorden, where we will talk about the organisation of the festival, you are welcome to come along if you want to get involved.
On Friday 13th February at 7:30pm, we are screening a film about the climate change nightmare “The Age of Stupid”, at Roomfield Baptist Church, on Halifax Road. Parking is limited so why not walk, car share or use public transport?
Best wishes,
Joe Mobbs
